Porsche 992 Review / History

In 2018 the 8th generation Porsche Carrera 992 was launched with Carrera S and Carrera 4S variants available. All engines are now turbocharged with the Carrera 4S Cabroilet and Coupe having a twin-turbo 2.0 litre flat-six producing 443bhp and 360lb of torque. The standard Carrera (plus Carrera 4) followed shortly after, along with the range-topping Turbo S.

Compared to its predecessor, the 992 includes new styling elements; slightly wider body (45mm), a new rear bumper with larger exhaust tips, slightly reworked front end, flush mounted door handles & slim full width taillights.

Thanks to new hydraulics, the soft top roof opens in just 12secs, inside is Porsche’s lates PCM infotainment system & a number of driver assist systems including ‘Wet Mode’ that helps the 911 on slick surfaces.
