What is Porsche PADM?
PADM stands for Porsche Active Drivetrain Mount.
Introduced as part of the Sport Chrono Package, the system uses electronically controlled engine and gearbox mounts that can alter their stiffness depending on driving conditions.
During normal driving, the mounts remain softer to improve refinement and comfort. Under harder acceleration, cornering and spirited driving, the system increases mount stiffness to reduce drivetrain movement and improve vehicle stability, handling and responsiveness.
The result is a Porsche that feels comfortable during everyday use while delivering sharper dynamics when driven enthusiastically.
Common Porsche PADM Fault Symptoms
When a PADM fault develops, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- PADM Disabled warning message
- Engine management warning light
- Chassis system warning messages
- Reduced Sport or Sport Plus functionality
- Increased engine vibration
- Inconsistent drivetrain behaviour
- Reduced handling precision during spirited driving
