We handle the entire process for you. Your car comes to our Harrogate workshop, our technicians remove the headlight units, once the lens has been repaired / replaced, we refit the units and check full functionality ready for collection.
Why Porsche headlight lenses fail
The polycarbonate lenses fitted to modern Porsche headlights are tough, but not immune to UV exposure, stone chips and age. We see four common failure patterns on the cars that come through our workshop:
- Crazing: Often referred to as “spidering”, crazing appears as a network of fine cracks across the lens surface and is particularly noticeable when the headlights are illuminated.
- Bezel splintering: Chipping or splintering along the leading edge of the lens, particularly common on 981 and 991 models.
- Water ingress: Permanent droplets or pooling inside the unit point to a failed headlight seal, rather than the temporary misting that’s normal in cold or wet weather.
- Accident or stone chip damage: Cracks or impact damage to the lens, casing or internal components.
While some owners initially view these issues as cosmetic, damaged headlight lenses can affect light output, beam pattern and long-term reliability. In many cases, replacing the lens is a far more cost-effective solution than replacing the complete headlight assembly.

GT Conversion Upgrade
If you’re already having your headlight lenses replaced, it may be the perfect opportunity to upgrade to a GT-style appearance.
This popular modification replaces the standard chrome-effect internal trim with a black finish inspired by GTS, GT3, GT4 and Spyder models, creating a more purposeful and contemporary look.
GT Conversion options are available for selected Porsche models, including 981 and 991 applications.
